Privacy Policy
BitSafe Community (“we”, “us”) runs Communicator (web and mobile). This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, how we protect it, and how you can request access, correction, deletion, or support. Last updated: 17 April 2026.
1. Who we are
BitSafe Community is the data controller for this service. For privacy and data-protection questions, email privacy@bitsafecoin.com. For general app support, email support@bitsafecoin.com. Both addresses are monitored.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, password (stored in hashed form), role, and workspace or organisation membership where applicable.
- Messages and chat: content you send in the app, timestamps, and who took part in each conversation.
- Call data: when you place or receive voice or video calls, we process data such as call status (ringing, answered, missed, ended), who was involved, call type, and duration. We do not sell recordings of your calls as a product; any recording or storage of media follows your organisation’s product settings and applicable law.
- Real-time communication: to connect calls and live features, audio and video may pass through our real-time service provider for routing and quality (see Third-party services). Connection and session signals are processed so the call can work.
- Push notifications: if you use our mobile app and allow alerts, we use a push token tied to your device. We send pushes for things like new messages, incoming or missed calls, and relevant workspace activity (for example reminders or updates you expect from the product). You can turn off notifications in your device settings; some alerts may be needed for security or legal notices.
- CRM and sales data: contacts, leads, meetings, landing pages, and similar information you or your team add in the product.
- Device and usage: app and web logs, diagnostics, IP address, device or browser type, and timestamps — to run the service, fix problems, and keep accounts secure.
3. How we use data
We use your data to deliver Communicator: chat, calls, real-time sessions, meetings, CRM features, and push notifications (messages, calls, and activity you have chosen to receive). We also use it for security, support, legal compliance, and to improve the product. We rely on performing our contract with you, legitimate interests where fair to you, and consent where the law requires it.
4. Third-party services
We work with trusted providers. They only receive what they need to do their job. We do not sell your personal data.
- Expo (push): For the mobile app, we send notifications through Expo’s push service, which talks to Apple (APNs) and Google (FCM) to show alerts on your device. Expo and the platform providers may process device tokens and message payloads needed to deliver those notifications.
- LiveKit (real-time calls and media): Voice and video calls and related real-time features are routed using LiveKit infrastructure so participants can connect with low delay. LiveKit may process connection metadata and media streams while a session is active, under their terms and ours.
- Other infrastructure: We may use cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics (if enabled), and similar tools necessary to operate and secure the service.
5. Storage, transfers, and security
Data may be stored in the EU/EEA and, where needed, in other countries with safeguards recognised by law (such as Standard Contractual Clauses). We use encryption in transit, access controls, and other reasonable measures. No online service is perfectly secure; please use a strong password and protect your devices.
6. Data retention
We keep data only as long as we have a clear purpose for it.
- Active accounts: We keep your account, messages, call logs, and CRM-related data while your account (or your organisation’s subscription) is active and you use the service, so Communicator works as you expect.
- After you leave: When an account is closed or you ask us to delete data where the law allows, we delete or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, unless we must keep something longer for law, tax, disputes, fraud prevention, security, or backup systems (backups rotate on a normal cycle).
- Call and real-time data: Session data needed only to connect a call is kept for a short time for reliability and support; summaries or logs your organisation relies on may be kept according to workspace settings and this policy.
- Push tokens: We keep device tokens until you log out, uninstall, turn off push, or we refresh tokens — so we do not send alerts to devices you no longer use.
7. Account deletion and data deletion requests
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time.
- How to request deletion: email privacy@bitsafecoin.com or support@bitsafecoin.com from the email address associated with your account and state that you want your account deleted.
- What is deleted: your account profile, associated personal account data, and personal data connected to your use of the service, subject to the limits below.
- How long it takes: we aim to process valid deletion requests within 30 days.
- What may be retained: we may keep limited information where required for legal obligations, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or backup rotation.
- Organisation-controlled workspaces: if your account is managed by an organisation, some content may remain under that organisation’s control where required for legitimate business, legal, or compliance reasons.
This section is intended to help users and app-store reviewers understand how to request account deletion and what data may be deleted or retained.
8. Your rights (EEA / UK and similar)
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, or delete your data, restrict or object to certain use, get data portability, or withdraw consent where we rely on consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Email privacy@bitsafecoin.com (or support@bitsafecoin.com) to make a request.
9. Children
Communicator is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children where doing so would violate applicable law. If you think we have data about a child, email us and we will review and remove it where the law allows.
10. Changes
We may update this policy and change the “last updated” date. If the change is important, we will tell you in the app or by email when that makes sense.
